Problem with a 007 theme is that there's not much choice of outfits for us guys - tux, tux, or, erm tux...and the villains all tended to go for that Dr.Evil collarless suit. I might be going - any suggestions costume-wise?

(First person to say "gold paint" will get a slap ...)

You could wear a tux Stuart.

Bet you hadn't thought of that eh

After the steaming great pile of c*** that Johnny English was, somehow anything related to both Rowan Atkinson and secret agents sounds like a baaaad idea.

Rowan Atkinson - he used to be quite funny, didn't he?

Anyway, I like Scathe's "Basic Henchman" idea. Could adapt it and take Thunderball as my inspiration. Dancing in flippers and snorkel - now there's a real challenge :what: .

And as for yourself, Graham - didn't this guy inspire your style :na: (in case anyone doesn't recognise him, think dentures...)

They're called cufflinks Michael  . Sorry, just me being cheeky again...

I'm cutting down on the flashing at the moment anyway :innocent: .

The typical henchman uniform of red boiler suit and yellow hard hat then ? Ill bring a couple of boxes and oild drums marked 'Secret' or 'Explosives' and we can carry them around - gives the 'Bonds' who come along something to hide behind too.

Anyone got a small electric car with a convenient tarpaulin that will make anyone hiding under it completely invisible ? :)

I thought that was quite smart until Heather told me that in my case it was more like AULDage.:(

Rosa Klebb. From Russia With Love, I think.

Hey, there's a thought - Gadget could come as Q. Not that you look like Desmond Lllewellyn or John Cleese, Gadget - it just seems appropriate somehow :)

Can someone let me know what hotels / B&B's are handy for the Bonar Hall, as I (& I assume others) will be staying overnight

Cheers

Tiggerbabe
9th-December-2003, 06:42 PM
Queen's Hotel is possibly the closest one - tel: 01382 322515
Travel Inn at Discovery Quay - probably a 10 minute walk - tel : 0870 197 7079

Auld Steeple Guest House tel: 01382 200302
Bracklinn B & B tel: 01382 566563
St Leonard's Guest House tel: 01382 227146

I've never stayed at any of them so can't give a recommendation other than to get to the Queen's from the Bonar Hall would take all of a minute on foot :D and with the Travel Inn you know what you're getting.
The guest houses I got from the Tourist Board's website
www.visitscotland.com/accomodation/?view=Standard
so you could check them out there.

See you there - minus the wet-suit I hope

Just home from a fab time in Dundee. Thank you for a lovely evening...especially to my favourite Forum dance partners who were there AND asked me to dance: Tramp, Graham (what a dance!) and Stuart M. There were others there who didn't ask me to dance:tears: Mr Dance Demon - we chatted but just didn't get around to it and Bill (I am still too scared to ask you, Sir!)
I got some good pics with my new toy (a digital camera). There is an amazing one capturing a "moment in dance" between Tramp and Wendy but you will have to wait until Monday when my technical adviser can show me how to post it. (You'll remember he is fourteen!!!)
I haven't danced for FOUR WEEKS what with a virus and report card writing time and all and it was wonderful to be back. Big hugs to everyone I chatted to on the night and danced with.
Looking forward to seeing you all again, soon!

:D :D had a great time last night in Dundee, and it was fabulous to see lots of friends from other dancing venues make the effort to travel to Dundee for a change. The Bonar Hall has a lovely floor(not quite Beach Ballroom) but great to dance on nevetheless.
I hope all who made the effort, felt the journey was worthwhile and enjoyed themselves. It was great to see Wendy, Graham and Stuart from Glasgow,Lisa, Neil, Karen, Bill and Craig from Aberdeen. Franck, you have met your match in the 'orgasmic chocolate truffle ' stakes !!! Craig's truffles were truly delicious, I didn't get a dance:sick: but the truffles made up for it!
Nice to see Mr and Mrs DD, Lindsay, Gilbert, Fran and all the others from Edinburgh.
It makes such a great night to have so many lovely people all together, dancing!!!
Thanks Scot, for making the effort to book the Bonar Hall, we Dundonians really appreciate it. I do know how expensive it is to hire, as Tayside Opera hire the place every May for our annual concert, so it's obviously a worry that a dance may not be a success.

Biggest laugh of the night -John Lusby in Dinner suit, snorkel andflippers dancing with wife Hazel, attemting a 'comb'and not quite able to raise her arm over the snorkel !!
