Hi
Can you recommend a speaker system for an iPod - mainly for holiday use?
My requirements are:
- it recharges the iPod
- it is lightweight - say less than 1.5Kg (guesstimate)
- gives high quality sound - powerful
- cost less than £100
- remote control is a nice to have - but not essential.
There seems to be loads around with obscure brand names. I've been through a couple of items before: both now 'disappeared'(?) - neither was ideal and the sound quality was never brilliant.
I appreciate any ideas/hints/tips from your direct experience.
Thanks.

Take a look at this thread (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/geeks-corner/14835-ipod-speakers.html). All I said there is still valid.

Check out "SoundTraveller K3000ST". I can't recommend it enough. It's tiny and the sound is really impressive for the size. It's on Amazon for about £50.

I ended up being given this one (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/ipod_mp3_speakers/devices/4320&cl=gb,en) - had them awhile now - very pleased with them.
the sound isn't as good as the bose - but for the price pretty damn good and the remote works well although you can't have anything blocking the signal.
works very well for charging my ipod - and is also connectable to computer if you buy the right cable.
I've never flattend the battery completely on the speakers yet - so can say that i will run to at least 6 hours on battery
It also comes with changable plugs so no adaptor needed in other countries.

Hi Jivelad, I have used the Logic 3 i-Station7 from the same people, as the 3 but with a small fold down sub woofer, can pick it up at various places for £50, sounds very good for something so portable

I've got the Altec Lansing IM600 - it's great :D
However, having just bought a new ipod touch, I've found out until AL release a new power adaptor, it won't charge it :(. It was fine with my nano.
And, if you buy a caselogic 72 disc CD case and remove the innards, it's a perfect fit (it didn't come with a travel case)

Thanks everybody for your advice. :flower:
I got the Logi-Tech Pure-Fi Anywhere. I really like it - especially the carry case - and the fact that it has an embedded battery (non-removable) which is charged - and then you have 10 hours portability.
Sound is good (for what it is!) - compared to previous iPod speaker systems I have had.......
PS I experienced the Bose for a few days recently - and it is good - although not 'life-changing'......imho.
