Can someone clarify what the rules are ?

I recently was going to give away some Daventry tickets but when I saw the cost to be a £1 via classified adverts, I stopped

I see some people just advertise on the main forum ,some used the classified adverts

Have things changed ?? whats the rules ?

I may be going out on a limb here, but one off personal ticket sales, shoes, magic leotards and the like are probably fine in the social events/chit chat threads. If its not related to dance at all, then use the classifieds (assuming the limited forum audience is enough) or sell it on eBay :)

If you want to sell something, use the classified ads.

Generally, people shouldn't use the main forum to place an advert for a sale of an item - if we catch these, we'll usually advise the poster to use the ads section.

I think the point here is that the tickets were being given away, not sold, so the OP was questioning why he had to pay for this.

Coz it's Stewart and we don't like him.

Seriously, I don't think he would have had to pay. If S38 had put in that in the appropriate thread, I'm sure it'd have been fine.

Just to clarify:

The Forum Rules (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/misc.php?do=cfrules) are - I think - fairly clear on advertising regarding events:

3. You may not post adverts on the forum. Events & classes can be discussed and links supplied as a reply to a specific request, provided the requests are not artificially manufactured by organisers or friends. Any 'reviews' posted by organisers or crew will also be deemed to be advertising and removed at the discretion of the Ceroc Scotland Forum team.
If you have something to sell, use the "For sale" (http://www.cerocscotland.com/classifieds/) section.
If you want to give away a ticket, or are looking to buy a ticket, for an event, I suggest you do a post on the relevant thread for that event (if there's no such thread, then I imagine there's little interest anyway). Alternatively, use relevant organiser message boards for that event (Ceroc and Utopia both have these functions).
