I found out (http://www.mjda.org/forum/showthread.php?t=556) that there's going to be a mixed Jive / Tango weekender next May.

(details here (http://www.jivelive.com/rockbottoms/))

Anyone going?

(Well, obviously, lots of people are going, I meant anyone on the forum)

I like the idea ... but the schedule seems to include chunks of swing music  Also not sure what music would be played in the main dance floor - and since there aren't any single rooms left and we don't know who the teachers are ... that's probably a no from me. :what:

Doesn't seem that long since I first saw an email about it.

Interestingly the Tango one looks to be selling out faster than the earlier WCS one (though that could be something to do with being nearer the summer).

Based on the previous 2 years the date could clash with the Ceroc Scotland Blaze weekender, which I think usually has a Tango element.

(The Rock Bottoms November event clashes with both the Ceroc and Jive Addiction weekends).

Quite impressive they appear to do DVDs given the smaller weekender size.

One the other hand the event might look a whole lot more attractive without that photo gallery.

Wouldn't worry - that's just listed as being in the Dungeon, which is the (much) smaller downstairs dancefloor. In the main room, I very much doubt they'd play any more swing than you'd get at any MJ weekender (even June's Lindy RB didn't have enough swing for my tastes )
