Not sure if I've missed it elsewhere, but how much is it just for the party?

I have been considering re-doing a beginner's workshop for a while now, but I think that I would monopolise the teacher's time on 'minor' things or bring up subtleties that are too petty for beginners to worry about when they are trying to learn the basics - and this would be unfair on them.
I also think that I'm too experienced to go into a beginner's workshop – not in the ability to learn anything from it (I’m sure that I would), but in scaring away any ‘true’ beginners.

So… should I be considering going to this “Beginner’s +” workshop ?

Having demo'ed a fair number of beginner's workshops while in Aberdeen with Lorna, I'd advise most folk to attend any such workshop or even the Beginner's+ noted above. They are an excellent revision tool and I always managed to take something new out of helping in them which I hope has improved my dancing.

As far as being too experienced to go to the workshop in terms of scaring away true beginners I don't think that this would be the case. Indeed I'm sure that true beginners would be very grateful of a few experienced dancers on the workshop as it should help them to pick up ideas quicker.

Agree with Dave on this. No harm in refresher courses and the 'newer' women will welcome someone who is a little more experienced.

A great opportunity to try out more style and think about playing with the basic moves. As I've said elsewhere having seen Viktor again last Wednesday I can see how even the most basic of moves can look elegant .............but then it is Viktor

 :na:

I'd be there as well if I wasn't in Edinburgh for the whole weekend :tears:

Anyway, the party alone is £10.00 and tickets are now on sale in Aberdeen, Perth and Glasgow venues. You can also email and send a cheque to book tickets by mail.

A quick update to mention that most workshops on the 22nd / 23rd November are now almost full. Anyone still thinking about booking should do so promptly.
The Dips and Drops workshop on the Sunday morning is now full.
The Spins and turns only has 2 male spaces left.

The other workshops can take 3/4 extra men or women. :nice:

Probably very odd.

Especially when attaching the word 'shimmy' to the word 'Franck'. :na:

(Sorry boss)

As I'm not teaching most of the workshops, I can't guarantee there will be (what I would consider) a suitable number of Combs taught over the week-end...

I will of course run private Comb tuition with any willing partner (victim?) during the party though :D

 Guess I'll just have to make do, and pay a bit more attention where I post replies and questions
