Does anyone know of a good (ie cheap and reliable) place to get SD memory cards from, or could anyone recommend a make? I'm after a 1 or 2GB standard SD card, not the mini or micro ones, speed not really important. It's so I can put a decent amount of stuff onto my PDA, and will fit a card slot on my laptop too.

I usually go to Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listmodule/FLASH/~Secure%20Digital~/list.html)for all memory-related purchases. Highly recommended.

you could go to 7 day shop (http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=777_6) or mx2 (http://www.mx2.co.uk/prodpage.asp?type=search&searchwhat=secure%20digital%20card)
My personal favourite would be either kingston or sandisk both have good reputations

A couple of considerations:
Many mini & micro SD cards come with adaptors to fit standard SD card slot; getting one of these would give you more flexibility in the future, even if you only need standard size now.
Also, check the maximum amount of memory your PDA is able to address; if it's limited to 1MB, as mine is, you don't need a 2GB card.

AFAIK mine can handle anything up to 2GB - not sure if it's able to use SDHC cards or not. It's a fairly recent one so maximum storage isn't really an issue. I don't think you can even get 1MB cards any more!

I'm a professional technology consultant, and I use DealExtreme for most of my gadget needs. They have 2GB Kingston SD Cards going for a little over US$12 each at the moment, and that includes free international shipping.

DealExtreme Search: sd card (http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.308~search.sd+card)

I don't think you'll find a better deal anywhere in the world. :)

My 2gig one has started reporting it's a 1gig.

Tried in different devices and formating but still says 1gig. Any ideas?
