I am hoping to go the the states this year for a West Coast Swing weekender

Anyone interested in going in March

There is
Seattle Easter Swing (http://www.seattlewcswing.com/) which is on the Easter Weekend
and
The Boston Tea Party (http://www.teapartyswings.com/)- March 27th-30th, 2008 - Danvers, MA

Much cheaper when you go in a group - and if the group is big enough I will try and get a discount

Going to the east coast would be cheaper (there's J&T in England for the BTP, so it'd be shame to go across that weekend I think), there's the Chicago classic (http://www.thechicagoclassic.com/) on march 14-16th and MadJam (http://www.atlanticdancejam.com/) on march 6-9th, in Washington. Last time I checked there were flights from London to Washington at 260 pounds... if that isn't an incentive... :D

I'm considering MadJam, finance and move permitting.

I'll do a poll later with all major US events so that we can see who's interested in going where in 2008...

Just checked both those out - but the line-up doesn't appeal to me

As you have said not worth going to the USA to see Jordan & Tat, they are over here so often.

I would like the opportunity to see as many of the top pros all under the same roof, that is why I would like to go the the Boston Tea Party. I went there in 2006 and had an amazing time.

Was thinking about the Seattle Easter Swing as I know one of the organisers and would possibly get a discount for us, but the West Coast is very expensive and I can't use my Virgin air miles to Seattle :tears:

I am booking for this in a complete moment of madness and taking advantage of a work trip over there - all very last minute!

Have you checked out "Boogie By The Bay"? there were some Aussie who went over for it last year and said it was awesome.... This was the 2007 line-up of pros Instructors (http://www.boogiebythebay.org/id9.html)

Unfortunately, my event here in the UK has been moved back by a month as J & T were double booked for The Boston Tea Party....so they will be there.

They are coming to The Royal Oak in April now...the only visit to England this year.
Anyone wants anymore details ..PM me.

BBB is definitely a fab weekend - but in November, a long way to wait - check out the Boston Tea Party, the line-up is just as impressive :worthy: AND they have a lindy section so you can learn lindy and balboa too if you wish - it is a real fun weekend.

It is a massive hotel, I think there was about 1,200 dancers there when I went (maybe more) a great mix and very friendly

Really? November? I though the website future dates were October...
(unfortunately attending this sort of event isn't on the cards for me at this point in time )

For what it's worth, I'll probably be in Atlanta for the USA Grand Nationals again.

Hmmmm........... that could be a possibility (May 22 - 26, 2008) - I am impressed with how cheap it is Tickets = $95 Thurs to Sun & Hotel = $89 per room

or Swing Diego May 1st - 4th 2008 - they have a Sunday night dance too

Mad Jam was awesome! A very competition orientated event with over 900 contest entries in West Coast, Hustle and Hand Dancing. The downside of that was the competitions didn't finish until about 1 a.m. and then the 1400 people in the ballroom wanted to dance :what: however it quietened down about 4 a.m.
Lookout on Youtube for John Lindo and Tatiana Mollman in the Invitational J&J probably the funniest and most outrageous I've seen:rofl:

Gosh wish I had known you were going, I assume you are doing the Tea Party ? Couldn't make up my mind about going, I had such a fab time there in 2006.

It finishes Sunday afternoon, but f you can, there is a local dance Sunday night, ask Robert & Deborah about it

Have a fab time............ I am soooooooooo jealous
