Jordan Frisbee, Tatiana Mollmann, Benji Schwinner, and Heidi Groskreutz are all appearing in a new West Coast Swing movie called "Love'n' dancing" they have just finished filming this month, the story line is about a West Coast Swing champion called Jake Mitchell who wins the 2001 World West Coast Swing Championships with his partner Corinne, in the movie Jake is completely deaf and feels the rhythm of the music through the floor, it's also got a romantic twist as jakes partner Corinne has a fiance and she drives jake nuts with her flirtatious ways.
sounds a bit of a girlie movie but I know the dancing is FANTASTIC.
Directed by Robert Iscove Choreographer: Robert Royston.

Jordan and Tat were working on a routine in France to prepare for the movie... it had to involve a scarf as a prop... looking forward to seeing what they'll come up with!

I have to say the storyline sounds a bit corny, but hey I'm looking forward to seeing the movie anyway :D

It's a dance movie of course it would be a corny and prob a chick flick.

Lets hope it's not a chick flick and is a comedy or something as I don't feel chick flick dance films do much to promote dancing to men.

Mind you the fact Jordan and Benji are in it might help to prove masculinity in dancing to those who watch it.

Sounds like it will be good for the image and visibility of WCS. Think we need Richard Curtis to make a film centred around the MJ world...

Mmm starring Hugh Grant as a amiable but slightly buffoonish MJ teacher who falls for an american WCS dancer who's visiting from the states but has a jealous lindy hopping boyfriend:whistle:

From what I remember don't think we'll get to see Hugh Grant dancing ever again after what he said about seeing his dance routine in Love Actually:rofl:

I assumed it was the spinning video you put on You Tube recently Lee which you tagged as West Coast swing for some inexplicable reason.

According to the IMDB it is in post-production (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1028581/).

Did anyone see Born Romantic, set against the Salsa World?

Also, lets not forget the Ceroc associated film ALL BAR LOVE, which was shot in April 2006 at the Clapham Grand and premiered last year at Wimbledon Odeon in digital?

... the spinning video you put on You Tube recently Lee which you tagged as West Coast swing for some inexplicable reason.

it probably was for the same reason as many people who teach jive and tag their recap video with 'west coast swing'.... They may get seen more at first, but in the long run I'm not sure they achieve what they hope for...

Just threw it up with cut and paste tags. Need to sort through them at some point and sort the tags etc out.

I saw the trailer last month, the dancing looks fantastic and the story doesn't look too shabby either, unlike like many so dance films. It has stars one has heard off too, like Billy Zane and Amy Smart.

It is due out in the States in the late Autumn, and will hopefully be out over here around Xmas.

Still no trailer on the web site yet . . .

I hope that it will be released in Australia, but somehow, I doubt it... grrrrrrr :mad:I have a feeling this movie is going to be obscure enough that getting a hold of in any format at all will prove to be challenging if it isn't released (legally) down under.

I enjoyed the dancing but the storyline was the usual predictable love story.
Nice to see some familiar faces, who were the couple dancing in the comp at the beginning, he had a beard and she had dark hair, a little older than the other couples? Loved J & T's routine with the scarf, wonder how many times she nearly strangled herself working out that routine!

It reminded me of the TV prog I went on (with many others including Lory) they asked for dancers (and we got paid) fab day out too ! I was dancing with David Barker :respect:

I am sure they approached the local WCS scene and asked the same for background dancers - I recognised quite a few.

I suppose they needed a backgound love story, in order to call it a 'film'

How did the 'deaf' guy 'hear' people in the audience, surely you can't read at that distance, especially when the spotlight is on you
AND........ How amazing was it that she learnt WCS so well that she could compete against Jordan & Tat only after a couple of months........ amazing

:yeah:How come he was chatting on the phone for ages too? And why did she feel as though, he was shutting his partner out, cos he didn't turn his hearing aid on, was she chatting through out the dance then...

Oh dear.. We just :Dhave to keep telling ourselves. ITS ONLY A FILM, OK?! :WetHaddock:

Can anybody help? Obviously happy to pay postage etc and can promise eternal gratitude...or chocolate if that works better
