Ok, ok, i admit it......

...Im a move freak!!!

For quite some time after I started dancing I would come home from a venue, write down the moves I had done, re-read them, bought videos , went on workshops .....ALL in the quest for new moves.

Recently I have calmed down my ways and concentrated more on style rather than moves but after last Wednesday (20th Aug) and last night (27th Aug) at Hipsters I am now , officially, a move freak again.

WHY?

What has happened to re-ignite the desire for more technical moves

........VICTOR!!!

This guy is a legend and Wednesday nights at Hipsters are fast becoming my favourite nights. For those who havn't been Victor teaches a beginners (with a twist) class then a superb, technical, stylish advanced class.

This is not one of your usual 'inter/adv' classes were you just string beginner moves together...........this is amazing.

The night is getting busier and busier (at least without BB being on) and the dances I had last night were some of the best I have ever had.

Debstar - I have never ever danced with you before but i just wanna say........WOW........such a brilliant dancer. Other great dances too but Im ashamed to say i dont know names.

I have spoken to nigel and he says that if wed can get over the 100 mark he may consider extending the night until 11:30 as opposed to 11:00 now.

Anyone who has not been down on a Wednesday before, get yourselves down there. A really fantastic night.

I second that. If I could only do one night at Hipsters it would be Wednesday. There's more room, plenty of good dancers, a brilliant lesson and in my opinion a good DJ - and isn't it still £5?

I was there last week but couldn't go this week as I went to a Council Meeting which finished too late so I had to dance in Worthing. As part of my addiction therapy I'm trying to keep my travelling time to no more than my dancing time. If Hipsters had been open 'til 11.30 the equation would have balanced:waycool:

My night in Worthing felt like going to kindergarden compared to Hipsters on Wednesdays. If it hadn't been for the 3 girls I'd talked into coming and a couple of good local girls I would have had a very dull night. Even then the music was very pop oriented and gave you nothing to play with. And you can still occasonally smell tobacco smoke on the dance floor:sick: so I won't be back 'til I hear there's a change in the smoking policy. And even then I'll be going up to Hipsters when I've got the time:D :D :D

But to get my fix tonight I'm off to Fleet, another of my favourites. Packed with good dancers, a brilliant lesson and music I like:waycool:

Ah Andy you missed one of Victors twister sessions. Even I managed to use parts of the lesson in the freedance afterwards, without crippling my partner.

And there was less swing music on Tuseday so you would have enjoyed it too. But it will be back to normal after the splurges.

Only been to Hipsters once and will certianly be going again.

Anyone who has read some of my posts will already know that I reckon that Viktor and Nigel are without parallel on the jive scene.
When I was at Hipsters Brady and I sat together and watched Viktor do some pretty simple but superbly stylish moves with someone and then just looked at each other wondering how basic moves could possibly look so good.

I spoke to Viktor at Brighton and he said that he felt rather than more and more moves most men really need to do those they knew but with more style.

I still think Nigel is more versatile but when it comes to real style the man is on his own. :D

I thought Hipsters was Tuesdays.... not living there I maybe missed the grand opening of a Wed night. Any other nights or is it just Tues/Wed?
Just in case I'm ever down

It's both.

Tuesdays with Amir and Nigel teaching, and Jon Brett DJing (apart from when it's beach boogie time).

Wednesdays with Viktor teaching, and Roger Chin on the DJ stand.

And from October, I believe that once a month, they will be opening on Fridays too!

Yep - I believe it starts on 3rd October (but please check this), and I understand ther'll be some special stuff happening. (Well it would be surprising if there wasn't!)
