My appologies for yet another question, I seem to be the only beginner on here who is bothering everyone.

But anyways, half way through yesterdays class it was time for me to change my top for obvious reasons. (btw what happened to aircon:angry: ?)

I tried to head to the restroom to change my top a few times, but never seemed to quite make it, as I got asked for a dances (not complaining about that). I was quite envious of the guys who just went over to their bags, towelled off and pulled on a fresh shirt.

What do you girls do? Battle your way across a crowded venue to the restrooms? Or do you turn your back to the floor and quickly whip of your top and put a fresh one of?

You're allowed to refuse a dance to change your top, but ask them where they're sitting and get them up afterwards. I wouldn't be offended if I asked someone to dance and they said no cause they were off to change.

:yeah: when i tell my class to get each other up to dance and not to refuse a dance i do tell them there is exceptions like needing the loo! I would take changing as an exception too especially when you are asking a man who needs to change. I would rather be told "sorry i am just off to change but i will catch you when i am nice and fresh" than dance with someone really sweaty.

If you tell someone you will catch them after you change, do try and make the effort to go back and get them!

Personally, I change in the loo's.

I don't know of any girls who change in the venue but maybe they're so quick and descrete that nobody notices?

Really? Am glad now I didnt change my top inside, I nearly did
That must be the Danish in me, we dont worry to much about such things. But I wouldnt dream of doing something which wasn't socially acceptable, well not as long as I knew about it.

I think I'd notice if you whipped your top off to change it, Lory.

Having said that, I could be wrong, and possibly this requires rigorous testing. I'll volunteer

Hi Connie,

Your not bothering anyone, your propbably asking the questions others may be wanting to ask too.

I personally change in the loos and normally take my dance bag with me and freshen up. You wont beleive what are in some peoples dance bags (see 'Whats in your dance bag' thread)

Dont worry about saying no to somebody, you prob wouldnt have a good a dance anyway if your worried about changing your top x

I would rather be told "sorry i am just off to change but i will catch you when i am nice and fresh" than dance with someone really sweaty.

Just to offer an alternative perspective: if someone is really sweaty and I still ask them to dance, it's probably because I want to dance with them regardless of their sweat. If I found the sweat a problem I probably wouldn't ask.
Doesn't really matter.

I'm a bloke and I tend to change in the restroom mainly so I can use the sink to wash up as well. I often have difficulty getting to my bag but once I'm there I pick it up and stride towards the doors. I have to say the bag seems to be a good way of stopping people asking me for a dance. A few times I've come back and been asked for a dance (and just thrown my bag to the side) but probably only a couple on the way out. If I was I'm sure I'd highlight the bag and say "I'm off to go change be back in a few minutes".

I'd say the rest room.

I've been "turned down" for dances by plenty of blokes who have said "I'm just away to change , can I do the next dance with you instead".

("turned down" is in inverted commas in that comment as personally I don't regard that as actually being "turned down". I regard that as a deferred acceptance.)

the restroom

I've never been to a venue with one of those - where's the one at Marco's?
I've used both the changing room (it has showers!) and the loo....

(apologies for my open dislike of americanisms...)

See "the loos" or "the toilets" opens me up to the obvious "yeah we figured that due to the way you smell and the fact you are wet" so I didn't use the terms. I dislike "restrooms" too but it stopped such jokes. I may have over thought this :na:.

At our local venue its also the location for the odd girly chat too!)

I may have over thought this :na:.Yes, possibly.

Washroom? Facilities? Gents/Ladies?

Blah, blah... walking thesaurus... mumble mumble mumble.

Yeah, they're all good, I had loads of options never used. Here's my edit:

I'm a manly man and I tend to change in the powder room so I can check my hair is looking just right as well.

Hope this clears things up :flower:.

Walk quicker or sit closer to the changing area.

But I know what you mean. The other week it took me six dances just to get a drink from the bar a mear 20 yards away. One while I was at the bar queuing and five for me to get back to my seat with drink in hand. :yum:

"restrooms" :rofl:

er...anyway, if you are leaving the floor for a reason, offer "i'll be right back" as an answer to a dance request. They can ask you again when you come back. Simple.

Eh, please don't. I never know if that means this song or next song.
