You can probably expect lots of leans/drops, though ... also some pretty intimate moves, and, I would think, lots of good style points. I also remember having to try and do body ripples in their class - which I am absolutely hopeless at!!

Sound like it will be great. Such a shame we can't come up for that one, too!

There is no Forum discount this time, though as that was very popular for the Perth week-end, I'm sure I will do it again some other time, so watch this space! :nice:

All the workshops will take place at the Glasgow University Union, 32 University Avenue (Regular Wednesday venue)

The University Union offers a brilliant hall and many nearby facilities.

I have updated the original post, but here is a summary of the workshops and links to maps of both venues:

• 11.00am ‘til 1.00pm: Intermediate Aussie moves.
• 2.00pm ‘til 4.00pm: Cabaret Flash & Style

Alternatively, you can choose from 2 package deals:

Silver package: any 2 workshops + the party for £30.00

I have specifically asked Nicky not to teach any lifts / aerials as I do not believe them safe on regular Ceroc dance floors, but the Advanced will include some dips / drops. :D

Franck.

P.S. For those of you who have never heard of Nicky Haslam and Robert Winter, here is a picture:

I recognise that move!

That's one that I showed to Bill and by the looks of the photos from the jive masters heats they used it a couple of weeks ago...

*sigh*

Well we did!:D
I'm not long home and my legs are sore (all those lunges, leg wraps and those sexy, sexy moves from today's up close and personal workshop   )

It's been a truly fabulous weekend - Saturday's workshops were great and the cabaret routine was tremendous fun (even if I did have to do it as a man - with Lisa as my partner though, wow!).

Nicky and Robert's cabarets were fantastic - they are fabulous dancers.

The party was great too - even if I did have to get an escort to the venue from the boys in blue - but that's another story :sorry

Today's workshops were excellent but most especially this afternoon - Franck's variations on the Aussie moves truly had to be seen to be believed, Lorna beware:what: I'm sure he's gonna use them in the Jive Masters, and in a kilt?

Thanks to Robert and Nicky for making the journey up here to teach - it was a lot of fun and loads of great moves that I'm sure will be used regularly by everyone who was there today - no pressure though guys  but the ladies loved them
Great to see you both dancing with everyone at the Henry Wood Hall too.

Thanks Franck, for asking them, for organising everything and a huge hug for the jaffa cake mini rolls at the party

Just to echo Sheena's comments, fantastic two days, haven't rolled my hips that much since, er, hmm, yes, for quite some time. :innocent: .

Thighs don't fancy stairs much today but it's actually quite a nice worn out feeling really.

Really great moves and guys please please do them as often as possible!

Got to ask - when is Franck's vid of "Facial Expressions for the Social Dance Floor" coming out?? Instant best seller I'm sure.

Bill, I'm still truly truly sorry and ashamed. but I did hear later that I wasn't the only one to do such a terrible thing so that made me feel a little bit better.

And finally, thanks to David Y and his red scarf for doing the little cabaret thingy with me!! - But what was the song????I knew it at the time but my mind has gone completely blank now!

Apart from that I enjoyed the dance and I hope I can remember enough of the moves to try them out over the next few weeks :D

Now Franck understands why I love dancing to slower songs :innocent:

:D :D Thought it was just me Chicklet!!! the tops of my legs were so sore driving home from Glasgow that I winced every time I had to change gear!! It's just as bad today!!
Of course ,as everyone who was there on Saturday knows, I made a spectacular entrance and have a big bruise on my behind to show for it!!  (Roll on the floor- not so much of the laughing!!!)
The weekend was absolutely brilliant,Nicky and Robert were just lovely and fantastic teachers to boot.
Sounds like I missed a fun class on Sunday afternoon!!  just have to hope Dave Hancock, Bill, the Lovely Roy etc have taken notes and will practice on me the next time we meet!!!
Congratulations to Franck for organising yet another great weekend, can't wait for the Beach Ballroom in November.
