When i shut down the internet on my laptop i get this message:

The instruction at "0x030fc512" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

I get this all the time when I shut down my machine at work. I know this isn't really the correct attitude I should have, but I just put it down as one of Windows' little idiosyncracies, as it hasn't yet caused me any problems (other than to be annoying)

I don't suppose you have the MSN Search toolbar installed do you?.

If you do try and remove this by going to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel and choose MSN Toolbar.

Then try it again. I found some internet exploder plug ins were problematic. Mind you I use firefox mostly these days.

Like Beo says, it's related to the MSN Search toolbar (or at least I found someone else say this via Google ;))

Especially 6.

Unfortunately that's all they use at my work (well except us special users who have all installed FireFox). I hate IE (more as a web designer than a user).

It worked, fantastic. Yes my laptop has ie, my pc had firefox, but hard drive crashed big time, it's on its way to Scotland to a data recovery company, as i hadn't backed up in a while.:tears: :tears: :tears:

Bought external hard drive yesterday & going to back up laptop.

Next question is can I save my emails on outlook to the new drive? & if so, how please.

 You guys are always soooooooo helpful. What would i do without you:flower:
