This question is also posted in microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync - but no response
*************************************
I am running a Windows Mobile 5 (T-Mobile MDA Vario 2) device and
synchronising to a laptop running Outlook 2002 - connected to
MS-Exchange.

Now I know (because I can see them in WM5 calendar) that when I ran
(in the past month) Active Sync 4.2 all the meetings ended up in both
calendars - which is exactly the behaviour I wanted. I know I did not
enter into the WM5 device the complex meeting invites that I accepted
on the Outlook/ Exchange laptop - they came "from" the laptop when sync
was done. Even "complex" multi-occurrence meetings were successfully
synchronised between the PDa and the laptop.

Now, in the past week, the calendar entries from laptop
Outlook/Exchange no longer are synced into the PDA's calendar. However,
the PDA entries ARE copied into the Outlook / Exchange calendar on the
laptop. This is not the behaviour I need. If I accept a meeting invite
on the laptop I need to copied on to the PDA when I sync - otherwise
sync doesn't tell me which meetings I have accepted.

Now I am sure I didn't change any settings in Active Sync on the
laptop, on the PDA not in Outlook. So what is happening?

This is weird and frustrating.

Any ideas?

Hmm you've not changed anything?

Check by going to TOOLS | OPTIONS | SYNC OPTIONS

Select calendar and click settings

just confim the settings there are correct. Also if you have sync last X weeks, ensure that both your PC date/time and your PDA date/time are correct. (on the SYNC options page check the "Sync Mobile device clock" Option"

But if that's working then I'm at a loss.

This is a good site for info though. have used this in the
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/t-shootactivesync.htm

Well, blow me down with a plastic teaspoon and call me Maureen.

I disabled the Exchange profile in Active Sync on the WM5 device and enabled Calendar sync within the "Work PC" profile on the WM5 device. It works!

Now, not only do I get the same calendar entries in both the PC and WM5 device, but because the Active Sync connection is persistent, when I make a change to calendar entries on either device, as long as they are connected, the change is synced to the other device in a few seconds.

Just what I need. Well deserved rep and :respect:

Slight Correction .... (spot the difference time)

On the WM5 device, I disabled the Exchange profile in Active Sync and
enabled Calendar sync within the "Work PC" profile (basically the
"local" machine the WM5 device connects to, not the Exchange server).
It works!

Now, not only do I get the same calendar entries in both the PC and WM5
device, but because the Active Sync connection is persistent, when I
make a change to calendar entries in Outlook, as long as the devices
are connected, the change is synced to the WM5 device in a few seconds.
Any WM5 calendar changes require a "manual initiated" sync back to
Outlook - not a problem.
