Hi

Any link or button I click on in the CS Forum for the past few days results in a pop-up box displaying the following error message

Run Time error has occured
Line 157
Error: "this.controlobj" is null or not an object

I then reject debug and the popup disappears until I click another link in the Forum and the popup reappears - always the same message.

This problem only occurs when navigating the CS Froum - not other sites.

IE version: 6.0.28 SP2

Does control-F5 fix it?

Technical bit... It's a javascript error from the "vbulletin_menu.js" file of vBulletin (maybe related to the vbShout plug-in?). Means something's wrong somewhere, but I don't know what.

Hi Clive,
Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? To clear it in IE6.0 Select the Tools menu right at the top of the screen and follow this path:

Tools-> Internet Options-> Delete Files
Yes I know it sounds drastic, believe me it's quite innocent.
You also need to OK the 'are you sure' type message this brings up.
Then next to the Delete Files button click the Settings button.
Select Every Visit to the Page for 'Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages'.
Click OK on both those windows.
Restart your web browser and see if that helps. It's worth a try.

If that didn't make sense, or you get stuck on the instructions... just email me ;)

Thanks for the suggestions.

For some unexplainable, but welcome, reason the pop-up has disappeared without me doing anything.

If it comes back, I will know what to try.

I'm guessing that'll be because the "Help" menu was finished off. :)

You are not actually suggesting that something a technical person did on the Forum actually caused a problem on my computer are you?

I dunno; is Franck a "technical person"?

And shouldn't you be going to Tango right now??

Where do I find tools?

Oo-er Missus.

In Internet Explorer 6, this is the Tools menu on the top.
In the new version of Internet Explorer (7) - the one with the ring round the "e" icon - this is moved to be on the top-right hand side of your window.

It's not too clever, the way they've moved all the menu items around in IE7 ...
