Had to search on Google to find out what you were on about .To save folks (like Gus) who weren't fans searching on Google:

Brian Redhead was a regular presenter on Radio 4's Today, who I think lived, or had lived, in the North West. In giving traffic news he would often refer to news for the "friends of the M6". The link is that I'd need to use the M6 to get to any of the venues above..:wink:
