In London for the first time for ages and at a loose end. Should I (a) go to Ashton's, (b) go to the Jive bar or (c) stay in hotel room watching TV

Dave

PS (c) was not a serious option!

Jive bar is marginally closer but involve a change of tube line - hotel is near Jubilee line that goes to Ashton's

The Jive bar is better served by transport, if you're centrally-based.

Which planet do you live on, where the Jubilee line goes to Ashtons?

Web site says Willesden Green on Jubilee line is 10 minute walk away - Are they telling porkies

Nope, it is - straight up Warm Lane apparently. Although if you're going, I'd recommend the train - Cricklewood station's much closer.

But, Cricklewood's not a nice area, I wouldn't want to get lost around there...

Definitely! I'd say Willesden Green station is much further than a 10 minute walk! There is a bus though.

Why are you arguing about which is closest? Surely the TV wins on that count?

Yes but you've got short legs.

Not that short!

Actually, I've just looked at a map, and its not that far. I've only been on public transport twice, the first time I went to Willesden Green, and someone at the station told me it was miles and I should get in a cab, or jump on a bus, so I got a bus which obviously went all round the houses on the way there!

The second time I went by mainline to Cricklewood, and it was a really easy journey.

Looking at the map though, 10 minute walk looks about right.

D'oh!

Whereabouts are you staying, Dave? I wasn't planning on going to Ashtons tonight, but I might change my mind.

The picture on the web site doesn't inspire confidence :really:

Maybe I'll stick to the Jive bar - at least I know where it is

TV definitely wins on closeness but doesn't win on any other system of scoring

I think you'll be best off with Jive Bar, Ashtons could be difficult for you to get back from.
