OK I admit it - it might have been me!!

I do occasionally look at the forum when not logged in because as someone (?Gadget?) pointed out, if you log in and don't have time to look through all your new posts in that session, the 'View New Posts' function is reset so you can't go back in later and easily see what happened since you last had a proper look through them.

Also when you're not logged in there's a function called something like 'View Today's Active Threads' (I'm guessing this shows any new posts in the last 24 hours ) which is sometimes more useful than the View New Posts button you get when you are logged in.
Franck: Can the above "quick search" be added into the logged in user's page please?

I have now added a separate link below the 'view unread posts' link on the Forum's front page.

Cheers,

Franck.

Re. suggestions, the Forum software is extremely flexible and fully customizable. I have only scratched the surface so far, so if any of you out there have a request, or something you find could be better etc... Make sure to post it here, I would be more than happy to adapt / change things to improve your experience! :D

For example, I have added the link to the Front page, but if you would like to see a similar link on a different page (provided it does not clutter up the place to much), it can be done easily.

Franck.

Thanks

Franck, just to let you know, perhaps it's me but this great new feature appears to be playing silly buggers the last couple of days.

Sometimes the front screen tells you there's a new post and when you go look there isn't.

At first I thought it was edits but now I'm not convinced.

you may well be right there, good thinking Robin.

I will observe for synchronicity of the two phenomena:D

Yep - I reckon this is right - just noticed this happen on the 'Best Dancers' thread today when a new post hadn't been added, and since I hadn't voted on this yet, I added my own vote (not for accountants though  ) and I notice the date & time changed immediately after.

Interestingly on the front page at this moment it says the last person who posted on Chit Chat was Chicklet, but if you open up the Chit Chat page, Grant is at the top of the list.
